San Francisco is experiencing a storm - meaning it has rained for the last 12 hours and will continue all day today. This is very bad news for our dog, Otto. He hates the rain. He hates the cold (good thing we left Chicago). He gets very mad when the weather is not just perfect for him. In fact, he gets mad if the blanket is not adjusted perfectly for him. Or if someone leaves during the prescribed hours of being home. (People leaving for work is just fine with him, it involved a bacon treat and a long nap.) And lately, he will not go for a walk, it must first be a drive - preferably to his favorite park or strip mall.

So, this morning's walk lasted 3 minutes. I carried him about 30 yards from the front door and he ran home.

So much for walking the dog being helpful in a fitness routine.

Since moving to California, I have noticed the occurance of what I call "California Fridays." If people work at all on those days - they leave by 2 pm. I am slowly shedding my midwestern work ethic to accomodate this phenom, but it is harder than one would think.

I hope to surprise myself and soon by a full participant!
