Getting to know you...

I thought I was just going to comment on a friend's blog, and next thing I knew, I had created this one. I suppose it is the cyber equivalent to "Dear Diary," only with readers from all over the world potentially seeing the entries. As a former marketing writer, it is clear that I must write for a different audience than I did in 1975.

And speaking of the 70s, I was remembering today that our family had a van back then. It was purchased specifically for long car trips like from MN to Florida, or within the state of MN. (It is a pretty long state going south to north, don't cha know.) It had a fridge, a couch/bed, four bucket seats and, most importantly, a little bit of elbow room between siblings that sedans just didn't provide.

This was a van. In 204, families fit this bill with the "mini-van." My question is "What is so 'mini' about it?" Are they not approximately the same size? And what has become of our perspectives when cars are now so big that a Ford Explorer now just doesn't look all that big anymore.

I think my next car will be a Mini-Cooper!
